“Ya Gallery” develops its own initiative in creating “the culture route” on Podol. This time it`s recommended to go for a cultural and informative walk between the gallery’s two stages. Four new exhibitions will be opened there on July 14.
“Zabavy” by Lvov citizen Adrey Gumenyuk will be opened in “ Ya Gallery” on Voloshskaya, 55/57, “What is art?” by Stanislav Perfetskiy, “Big Construction” by Nikita Kravtsov and Anton Logov will be represented in two halls on Khoriva, 49-b. Besides that, following the idea of “intrusion” into Tiberiy Silvashy`s installation “The horizon”, Anna Voytenko presents her project “You are illusion” on the terrace on Khoriva street.
The first project – “Child’s play”. This is the look on children’s world from the point of view of an artist and a father. The experience of reviewing his life, which never led to actual maturity, became the start point of the work. On the artist’s paintings children do not just play adults – they are adults. The author’s technique – combination of linorit and painting erases the border between children’s and adult’s worlds. Industrial sceneries and dusty roads are the background for the accentuated sign of the modern Americanized world.
“Big construction” is the second project. Uncontrolled building of cities, obstruction of public space by so-called modern constructions, and this urbanization in Ukrainian way leads to artists` creative reflection. Participants of the program “Gene pool” Anton Logovo and Nikita Kravtsov offer their view on the problem. Logovo ironically treats with paint pictures of Kiev streets. Simultaneously the young artists create a series of semi-abstract views - fixations of emotional state of the modern city.
The third project “What is art” by Stanislav Perfetskiy (see the illustration) is very original. Very few people can boast of knowing the painter in person. Using this fact, he sequentially creates his own legend, according to which he is the namesake of the character of Andruhovich novel “Pereverziya”, a street artist. He stuffs his colleagues` works with his bright templates. Each of his works is in a way a minor literary form. What kind of content – visual or verbal prevails in them could be estimated on the exhibition, the opening of which the artist will traditionally ignore.
Within the project Abstract Vision Test “intrusion” into Tiberiy Silvahy`s installation “The Horizon”, “Ya Gallery” offered young artists to create their own version of the existing installation. Photographer Anna Voytenko will be the first to realize her intentions.
She will create illusion of free space using mirrors in place of concrete columns.
According to the artist, in order to survive in modern space, narrowing rapidly, a person should lose sense of reality.
The entrance to presentation is free.
