For the first time Truskavets city will join the Festival . This year all Flugery actions will be   held in Truskavets Treatment & Rehabilitation Resort Complex "Rixos-Prykarpattya” as well. 

 
1 May, Saturday – Especial Projects Day:
 
The Festival Flugery L’vova -2010
 
The Festival will be launched with the concert by Victor Tsaran,  the legend of the  90th, sightless bard who will present his new album "Vanilla Fields" with the participation of the most lyrical Ukrainian ethno-band  Ocheretyanyj Kit. .
 
Besides, that day will present:  the International jazz project  The Pol.E.Trio + Polish  band Port Przemysl , who will sing  sea shanties (shipboard working songs)  + unpredictable duo of the bassist & vocalist in the quartet  Zbigniew Wrombel - Janusz Szrom Projekt .
 
That day will come to its end to the  accompaniment of  the  writer & provocateur Yuriy Izdryk & his  project "Amsterdam" with the participation of the Ukrainian-Dutch band  Alex Trio: Maksymiv-Voytyuk-Abramov & the  psychotropic-poetic project "DrumTYatr: Izdryk-Semenchuk-if.ro».
 
2 May, Sunday, Concert-happening “Get Up with “Mertvyj Piven!” 
 
The Festival Flugery L’vova -2010
 
 + ethno-music under supervision of the newly created "EthnoClub of Acquisitions":
 
 Sunday morning at 10 am. - the 5th anniversary  of the concert-happening  “Get Up with “Mertvyj Piven!”  within the Festival Flugery L’vova.  The musicians will awake  as always  loudly, cheerfully and massively. Admission -  50 UAH.
 
 And in the evening the  lovers of ethnic music will be entertained by the gutsul (ethno-cultural group of Ukrainian highlanders) Chapel Bay, folk-band Burdon, the songs of  "desert nations" will be represented by the Egypt bedouins «Mazaher -Zar», the meditative music will be  performed by  the Tatosh Banda and the Polish world music stars  the Čači Vorba will transform the Festival’s  courtyard into a hilarious  Balkan wedding.
 
3 May, Monday - «JazzClub.Lviv» will present the zests of young jazz: 
 
 The concert will be opened by the debutants of the previous Festival, the band  Free Breath, then the New Trio (Poland)  will demonstrate their new jazz-dreams,  Arabic jazz will be performed by the musicians of the Cairo Jazz Club «Arabesky» and the ShockolaD (quite impossible to imagine any Flugery without that group) will finish that day.    
 
4 May, Tuesday - the  concert on the occasion of the   Dzyga Jazz Quartet 10th anniversary  (L’viv Philharmonic): 
 
The final "Flugery L’vova - 2010" project will be the concert devoted to the 10 th anniversary of Lviv's jazz patriarchs – the band Dzyga Jazz Quartet (Volodymyr  Kit, Arkady Orekhov, Valentyn Uchanin, Andreiy Nadolskyj)

16.03.2012  “Weibocalypse”: China’s new microblogging rules go into force

On March 16, new real identity rules imposed on China’s microblogging platform Weibo go into effect; dubbed “Weibocalypse” by China’s internet community . The Provisions on Administration of Weiboke Development (the Provisions) include core provisions in Article 6, which requires pre approvals by the Beijing city authority before launching a Weibo account, and Article 9, which requires that a user provide his or her true identity. Chen Jihong, a Beijing-based partner at Zhong Lun Law Firm said that “overall, the Provisions regulate not only issues of approval and true identity, but also general issues including compliance with the law and privacy protection”.

Kyiv, December 28, 2011. A famous Ukrainian folk singer Oleg Skrypka performed a renewed version of the winter holiday classic Carol of the Bells originally composed by Ukrainian Mykola Leontovych. This new rendition of the world renowned tune became a soundtrack for the freshly released Ukrainian animation film Shchedryk.

A painting by a Ukrainian artist set a new record at the Phillips de Pury & Co auction that took place in London on October 13, 2011. The art piece “Horse.Night” by Anatoliy Kryvolap was sold for USD 124,4 thousand which is the highest a painting by a contemporary Ukrainian artist ever grossed at an art auction.

31.08.2011  Two Giant Fish Images Across the Border Become a Symbol of Polish-Ukrainian Unity

A Polish artist Jaroslaw Koziara created two giant images of fish on the grass on each side of the Polish-Ukrainian border. The tail of the first image lies on the territory of Poland with its head on the Ukrainian territory. The second fish is positioned facing the opposite direction. The artist intends to send the message of unity of the two countries – nature and art know no borders.
