During the tour we will tell you about the culture and religions of different nationalities living in the capital of Ukraine. You will also know how their places of worship were constructed in Kiev.

Now there are about 200 temples of different confessions in Kiev. Tolerance has always been dominated in religious life in our city. During the tour we will visit a mosque and a synagogue. We will learn about the Greek-Catholics and Protestants in Kiev, as well as about ascetics, saints and patrons of the arts. Kiev is very famous with ascetics, saints and patrons of the arts.

Then you will be amazed with the unusual interior of the St. Basil’s Greek Catholic Church. St. Basil’s Greek Catholic Church has been built in the contemporary style.

Ar-Rahma Mosque is the only mosque in Kiev. It is the spiritual center of Ukrainian Muslims. There the Devine service is conducted by the chief mufti of Ukraine. There is the Muslim cemetery near the mosque. There is their educational center there too. The minaret is being constructed near the mosque.

The most popular stream of the Protestantism is known as Evangelists. Evangelists settled in Kiev in the 19^th century. Devine services are conducted by evangelists in different languages in their praying house. The building of their praying house is distinguished with its expressive architectural style. And it has been constructed in perfect harmony with the surrounding landscape.

At the end of our tour (our tour will be finished in the ancient Lower Town) we will visit the St. Nicholas’church in the Quay. It is one of the three temples of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in Kiev.

We start our tour at the Kiev Choral Synagogue. There was a puppet theater in the same building in the Soviet times. Now the Devine service is resumed in the original Synagogue building which has been reconstructed. There we will learn about the customs of the Jewish people as well as about the Jewish shrines.
