Kiev underground reaches the age of 50 in 2010. In connection with this the exposition of the Museum (opened in 2000) was supplemented with new exhibits. At present time the exposition of the Museum includes above 1500 of main funds and almost 1000 of adjuvant funds. The exposition is placed in 3 halls –a hint that first metro trains were three-car units. Big pictures of stations, with indicated date of opening, are placed chronologically above the stands. The first hall is dedicated to building and opening of queues of underground of different years. Here you can see documents and pictures of the first years of construction and work of underground, personal things of previous directors of underground, rewards, orders and flags. The central exhibit of the hall is an operating model of the station «Dnepr» in a scale 1:87 and the first depot in the way they looked in 1960-65, before building of Metro bridge to the Left bank. Once this station was terminal and, due to its special above-ground and quay location, the special lift to the trestle of the station was developed.
The second hall is devoted to the services of underground. A story of separate subdivision and its workers is on each of the stands. There are models of carriages and parts of equipment in the windows of mobile composition Service and depot. Travel documents are widely presented in this hall, both Kiev and of other underground passages of the CIS and the world. Evolution of these documents, necessary for moving about the city, appears in all fullness: from the first tickets of 1960th to the numerous samples of jettons of 1990th. In addition, there is a window with the symbolic keys and invitations to openings of stations: it is in Kiev that they managed to preserve the biggest in the CIS collection of this type.
In the third hall the first clock of central station of service time of underground passage is placed which synchronizes time and intervals of passing of trains, and also an operating model of circulating deadlock in the same scale 1:87. Information about service of militarized guards of the underground passage, technical services, about the informational -computer center and project-design bureau of the underground passage is placed on the stands of this hall.
