Theatre-studio "MIST" was created in October, 2005 by a group of like-minded persons: by the artistic leader Yulia Gasilina, stage-director and dramatist Olexander Miroshnychenko and culture expert dramatist Neda Nezhdana.
Yulia Gasilina explains the name of the theatre: "MIST (from ukr. “bridge”) is associated first of all with passing to the other bank, other territory - unknown, unexplored. At the same time, it is a symbol of unity between artists and public, stage-directors and dramatists, between generations".

 The theatre is named "modern" foremost in the European understanding - as a theatre of modern Ukrainian and foreign dramaturgy. Saying "modern" we mean not only the plays about modern life, but works which reflect the breath of time, the spirit of our era.
The word “interactive” in its name is no coincidence: emphasis is done on a coexistence with public in interdependent open intercourses…
The “MIST” creates a living theatre. For this reason, the theatre yet is named “young” – according to the age of actors and stage-directors, and to the catering for the young audience.

 The theatre runs a theatrical studio, which has the goal to bring up a "clever harlequin" (according to the original determination by L.Kurbas) – i.e. an actor, who perfectly controls own voice and body, as an image-bearing instrument. Different methodologies and actor training in the process of teaching are used here to achieve this goal.

 The feature of the theatre "MIST" is its close collaboration with the publishing house "Smoloskyp". The theatre and the shop of the publishing house are located in nearby building, literally "next door". Actually, plays are shown in the apartment of the cultural centre of the publishing house.

 Nowadays it’s in fashion to modernize the classics, for example, the well-known formula “Shakespeare in jeans". But the artistic leader of the theatre considers that new dramaturgy, new ideas, new perception of reality is much more interesting. Exactly this dimension the "MIST" tries to show on the stage.
The stage is a comfortable apartment with a good acoustics. A seating accommodation of the hall is 30.
