The theatrical centre of one of the most famous and popular educational institutions of Kiev and Ukraine declares itself as a successor of puppet show booths and dramaturgy of “student” theatre of XVII-XVIII centuries.
In the meantime the theatrical centre seeks to become an open territory for the performers of all kinds of arts. Centre stages the performances both with professional actors, and with students-amateurs. Student theatrical club works at the centre; it unites the admirers of theatrical art in its broad concept: they’re interested in history of a theatre, genres, stage direction, set design, traditional and new currents. Masterclasses of different kinds of theatrical arts are organized here.
The theatrical centre is an organizer of interesting concerts of different genres at the Academy, for example, the concert of jazz singer from Germany Pascal von Wroblewsky, the concerts of famous folklore band “Bozhichi”. Moreover, in the premises of the building a few theatrical crews “took refuge”, in particular, the theatre of poetry “Mushlya” and youth theatre “Otkritiy vzglyad”.
