Zakrevsky’s dynasty Manor Complex is located in the small village of Berezova Rudka, Piryatinsk district, Poltava region one and a half hundred kilometers east from Kiev. Many talented and famous people were descended from that family. Gregory Zakrevsky decided to found his estate there. Zakrevsky’s estate was known as a place of noble assembly too. The palace was built there in 1838. The visitors are still affected with its beauty and size.

In 1840s the landlord of the estate in Birch Rudka Platon Zakrevsky (it is believed that his grandfather Gregory was the illegitimate son of the Russian Empress Elizabeth and her Chancellor Mikhail Vorontsov) was often visited by his former classmates in Nizhin high school. Eugene Grebinka was among them. There Eugene Grebinka composed words that would be known worldwide as the romance "Black are your eyes".

Taras Shevchenko visited Berezova Rudka too. Shevchenko was in friendly relation with Victor Zabila and Victor Zakrevsky. Victor Zakrevsky was the youngest member of the Zakrevsky’s family. And he was a man of democratic views too. 29-year-old Taras fell in love with 21-year-old Anna Zakrevsky. She was a very beautiful wife of Platon Zakrevsky. It was a strong and mutual affection breaking their young hearts. Shevchenko met Anna Zakrevskaya secretly not only at the balls in Berezova Rudka, but also a tete-a-tete in St. Petersburg. The Zakrevskys used to move there in winter. Shevchenko dedicated his poems "G.Z.", "If we have met again" and "Oh I have little eyes” to Anna Zakrevsky. Shevchenko painted portraits of Platon Zakrevsky and Anna Zakrevsky too.

Tourists come here to visit the Zakrevsky’s estate and enjoy the beautiful park. The unusual Family Tomb of Zakrevsky’s family was built in 1899. It was designed by Ignat Zakrevsky. Ignat Zakrevsky worked as the Russian ambassador in Egypt many years. The Shrine of Zakrevsky’s family is one of the three existing pyramids in Europe. This is a classic pyramid oriented to the cardinal points. Authentic Egyptian building materials were used in order to construct it. The pyramid is not so high. It is only 9 meters high pyramid.

Berezova Rudka is the birthplace of Dmitry Lutsenko (1921 - 1989). Lutsenko is the author of many famous songs texts such as Kiev of Mine, Gray Hair, Front-line Fighters, Mama's cherry and Autumn Gold. Those songs were created in collaboration with famous composers L. Revutsky, O. Bilash, V. Vermenich, P. Mayboroda, A. Pashkevich and I. Shamo. Every year there is the Autumn Gold Festival in Berezova Rudka. The festival is dedicated to the memory of the poet-songwriter. The Autumn Gold Festival is organized in September.
