Transcarpathian region, Kvasy, Sanatorium “Mountain Tisa”

Kvasy village in Transcarpathian region has been renowned for its salubrious sources for a long time. Half a century ago “Mountain Tisa” was opened here – a specialized sanatorium – preventive clinic for rehabilitation and health improvement of Soviet space pilots and personnel of Atom Nuclear Stations. At present time this “sanatorium of joints” successfully deals treats diseases of locomotive and peripheral nervous systems. In other words, water of the sanatorium “Mountain Tisa” is the only natural arsenious mineral water in Ukraine. Its unique composition includes the most valuable microelements.
As a matter of fact, medical mineral waters, containing arsenic have been used in world medical practice for a long time – for drinking, baths, irrigations, showers, aerosols, inhalations and other procedures. There are resorts with waters similar to Kvasovaya, in France (La Bourboule), Germany (Durkheim), Italy (Ranchenyu and Leviko), Czech Republic (Marianske Lazne). Baths with such water have become particularly popular: they are rather effective in treatment of diseases of locomotive and nervous systems, endocrine diseases (hyperthyroidism), metabolism disorders (podagra), gynecological problems.
Arsenic by itself has great biological importance for normal functioning of human organism and has valuable pharmacological properties, when used in small doses. Sanatorium “Mountain Tisa”, the pearl of “mineral resorts” of the Carpathians region, is located in the most beautiful area of Transcarpathian region, on the territory of the Carpathian Biospheric Nature Reserve, which belongs to the international network of biospheric reserves of UNESCO. This miraculous place of rest in Western Ukraine is covered with romanticism of old Gutsul legends, breathes mountain freshness, pleases the eye by fanciful views.
Kvasy village, spread on both sides of the Black Tisa River, is situated in the very center of European Continent, within 20 kilometers distance from the center of Europe. The sanatorium is located in the center of the village – next to local authorities, railway station “Kvasy”, post-office, shops and entertaining establishments. The year before last it resumed its functioning after major reconstruction. At present time guests of “Mountain Tisa” are welcomed by equipped rooms and well-regulated everyday life, recreation and medical treatment.
The health resort offers 16 single and 80 double standard rooms, 5 double family rooms (two extra sleeping beds can be placed in them) and 3 two-room four-bed “family” suites.
At the local canteen guests of the sanatorium are served by waiters. Guests are provided with specially developed dietary menu, which includes three meals a day and is recommended for those who suffer from locomotive system diseases.

Those, who arrive at the sanatorium, should have a passport and a medical card of the defined pattern (form 072/0).
