The first Museum-Studio of photo art in Ukraine has been opened in Khmelnitskiy. Family collection of old photo equipment of the famous Khmelnitskiy photo master Konstantin Zhdanov will be represented in the Museum. The collection includes over 500 exhibits of the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century. There are very rare, unique exhibits, which exist just in a few copies. There are absolutely unique ones, for example, the first serial photo camera, produced in Ukraine in 1932.
Besides that, many old photos, keeping the memory of the first traditions of photo producing, about the city and its rich history have been collected in the Museum.
The opening of the Museum was beautified by 70 contest works of members of the National Union of Photo Artists of Ukraine, whose works are represented in the exhibition hall.
Among them there are canvases of the honored figure of Ukrainian art, the famous Khmelnitskiy photo artist Aleksandr Solentsov.
A children`s school- studio is planned to be opened under the Museum, where pupils and students will be able to learn both traditional and modern technologies of photo production and attend master-classes of famous photo masters.
