Historical – architectural reserve “Scythian Naples” was created in the southern-eastern outskirts of Simferopol on the territory of the capital of ancient Scythians in Crimea.
The decision on foundation of the reserve was adopted during a session of the Supreme Council of Crimea in April of the current year. “Scythian Naples” was put on the tourist map of Simferopol and was in need of beautification of the territory and organization of exposition of items of everyday life and art of ancient Scythians, found on the territory.
Presentation of the reserve took place on July 21. Specialist of touristic business participated in it: travel operators, guides, translators.
Scythian Naples is an old city, one of imperial fortresses of Crimea, the capital of the late Scythian state, which existed from the 3d century BC till the 3d century AD. The exact time of its foundation has not been determined, but it has been found out that the 2nd century BC was its golden age and it disappeared after Goth`s invasion in the 3d century AD.
