The monument to Nikola Tereshchenko, a patron of art and the honoured citizen of Kyiv, is opened on the territory of Okhmatdet, a children’s hospital and research centre (28|1 Chornovil St.); the sculpter is a Kyivan, Oleksandr Mykhailytsky.

It means that Ukraine’s representative needs to rise three steps above to be among 11 leaders of voting to participate in another stage of the action.
The Jewish community of Lviv in the period between two world wars is the topic of the exhibition that starts on 11 June at the Lviv Museum of History of Religion. Over 1000 years Jews have lived in Galicia. At the beginning of the 20th cent. the largest Jewish was in Lviv which was the third in Poland after Warsaw and Lodz.
During a week in Lviv Region a group of experts is working to select cheerches which be protected by the UNESCO. On the initiative of the Lviv Oblast Council the year of 2009 is announced The Year of Development of the Carpathian region, that's whey this year it is envisaged to include 5 wooden cheerches into World Heritage List of the UNESCO.

The museum of the great English writer is openes in Zhytomyr Oblast, in the town of Berdychiv in the lower church of the Carmelite cloisteres order fortress. It was the church where in 1858 the future writer was christened. The opening of the museum became possible thanks to efforts of local authorities, patrons of art, the town's community and the Embassy of Poland to Ukraine
